Operable Colonial Shutters
Beauty
- We build three types of operable, raised-panel colonial shutters. The first are made from Extira, a composite material that can replace MDF, plywood, wood, and cellular PVC in any paint-grade application. Extira does not absorb water and swell. It is also highly termite and rot resistant.
- If you are looking for historically correct styles, we build authentic louvered Spanish cedar shutters here in our shop.
- Our Extira and cedar shutters are mounted with powder-coated, stainless steel hinges, pintels, slide bolts, and S hold-backs.
- They are historically accurate and can be painted any Sherwin Williams custom color.
- We are also building louvered aluminum operable shutters here in our shop. They can be painted any Sherwin Williams paint color. The hardware is painted aluminum.
Protection
- Our operable colonial shutters can be closed to cover the window glass and help protect it from wind-blown debris. They can be securely closed with a storm bar. This also protects your house from unauthorized entry and vandalism.
Even if you have hurricane-rated windows, our shutters will protect your expensive investment
